Our Goal
The number one goal of our company is to make sure that each and every one of our customers walks off the boat at the end of the day feeling their time and money were well spent with us. This is not just some cliche to throw up on our website but rather, it is something I take great personal pride in and a life-long standard I have always tried to hold myself and crew to. Whether you are a hard-core angler looking to fill the freezer or out for a relaxing day of fishing while spending quality time with family and friends you can rest assured that we will be doing whatever it takes on our end to ensure a productive and enjoyable day.

The Boat
The “Fishing Machine” is a downeast style vessel built by Evans Boat Builders in Maryland. Her 38 foot length accompanied by an impressive 14.5 foot beam makes her an extremely stable platform to fish in whether anchored or drifting. Fishing Machine’s layout and large beam provides one of the most spacious cockpits you will ever get the chance to fish. Powered by a 450 hp Cummins 6CTA diesel engine she cruises at a comfortable 14-15 kts. She is outfitted with the latest in electronics and safety equipment to ensure both a productive and safe trip for our guests. Fishing Machine also features a dinette for eating with a microwave and refrigerator, a roomy full bathroom (head), bunk room, and plenty of seating both inside and out.

The Captain
Captain Mike O’Grady has been fishing his entire life. As a kid he would fish at every opportunity. It didn’t matter where he was, if there was a body of water nearby, he would be found fishing and usually catching in it. He spent much of his youth commercial rod and reel fishing on with his dad on their family boat or working Rhode Island’s south shore with his surf rod.. At 15, when old enough to look for work, a job doing what he loved seemed like the obvious choice. He began working as a deckhand for one of the local party boats eventually getting his captain’s license while earning a degree in fisheries science at the University of Rhode Island. Captain Mike has spent his entire career fishing the waters off Point Judith and Block Island as far south as the blue waters of southern New England’s canyons. With over thirty years of fishing both commercially and in the charter fishing industry Capt. Mike has built a wealth of knowledge and familiarity with local fishing grounds that he now uses to the benefit of his customers. Whether fishing inshore for fluke, seabass, and blackfish or venturing offshore for cod, yellowfin and bigeye tuna, he has spent countless hours learning and perfecting his profession. Captain Mike owns and runs the spacious 38 foot Evans charter boat “Fishing Machine” and uses his experience and passion for fishing to give his customers the best fishing day possible. Captain Mike has always worked and fished with a mentality that it was his responsibility to honor the financial and time investment that his customers made in choosing to fish with him. He takes great personal pride in ensuring that everyone of his customers get the best experience possible each and every day. It is this passion for fishing and serving his customer base that he now enjoys instilling in his two sons, Jack and Kyle, as they work as deckhands for him in this family venture.
